There's a note in the document for Convoy HX 241 in connection with Jean L-D and Fort Remy saying they joined SC 132, having straggled from the HX convoy. As can be seen, these ships are not included in Ted's diary, but the above ships are those leaving from Halifax only, so the two HX 241 stragglers must have joined at sea.
According to A. Hague, LST 13 was also in this convoy (see this external page). Also, he has the British Tamaha in station 34 - not mentioned in Ted's diary, probably because she joined from St. John's. |

Notes: The cancelled Jobshaven sailed in the next convoy, while Lekhaven is listed in SC 134. Alden Gifford, Stamos and Estrella* had been cancelled from the previous convoy, SC 131. Estrella is also mentioned in Convoy SC 130, and shows up again in SC 134, which left Halifax on June 16. According to A. Hague, she was involved in a collision when in SC 132 and returned to port. She may have collided with the Dutch Katendrecht, which is also said to have returned after a collision; also listed in SC 134. (Additionally, Clan Mcinnes was involved in a collision, but this took place in the Clyde Estuary). * It looks like Fort La Traite had been cancelled from the fast convoy HX 240 leaving New York on May 19-1943. Hollywood and Ribera had also been scheduled for that convoy, while Glarona and Robin Gray had been cancelled from an earlier convoy, HX 239. Rathlin (requisitioned July 28-1941) was on her 12th voyage as rescue vessel, having started out at Clyde with the westbound Convoy ON 181 on Apr. 30 (to Halifax May 15), returning with Convoy SC 132 from Halifax on May 26, to Clyde June 11-1943. ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague). Escorts: To the next SC convoy in my list SC 133 |
