Ludwig Mowinckels Rederi, Bergen Delivered in Nov.-1939 from Bremer Vulcan Schiffbau & Maschinenfabrik, Bremen-Vegesack (723) as Ogna to A/S J. Ludwig Mowinckels Rederi, Bergen (had originally been ordered by Standard Oil, New Jersey, U.S., launched for H. M. Wrangell & Co, A/S, Haugesund). 4998 gt, 2957 net, 8682 tdwt, 430.9' x 55.8' x 25.6', 5 cyl. 2 TDV MAN DM (builders), 3400 bhp. As will be seen when going to Page 1 above, Ogna was en route from Buenos Aires to Santos when Norway was invaded by the Germans on Apr. 9-1940. At the top of Page 2, departure date is given as Nov. 27; this should probably be Dec. 27. Convoy information to match some of the above voyages will be added. Renamed Ogna County in Jan.-1953. Renamed Ogna in 1961. Sold in June-1963 to N.A. Valmas, Athens (manager Lemos & Pateras Ltd, London), and renamed Marianna. Aground at Finsnesrenna, south of Tromsø on Nov. 21-1965 on a voyage from Archangel to Hartlepool with lumber. Refloated Dec. 5-1965. Found to be beyond economical repair in 1966 and sold to Norwegian breakers. Sailed from Bergen on Apr. 2-1966 for Kristiansand S for breaking up. Sold in 1982 to Hong Kong, renamed Fjord Thistle. Sold to the Philippines in 1987, renamed Visayas Victory. Sailed as Panamanian Norsul Parana from 2000. Sold to owners in Nassau in 2004, renamed Linnet Arrow. Sold again in 2005 to new owners in Nassau, renamed Palua Pearl.
