Built in 1920 by Skålurens Skibsbyggeri, Rosendal (123) for Egil Næsheim & H.C. Rønnevik e.a., Haugesund. Fishery No. M-14-HD. Later owned by Selfangst og Havfiske A/S, Ålesund, converted to sealer. Owned from 1939 by p/r Arktos (Karl Karlsen, Brandal 2/3 and Bernt K. Marø, Borgund 1/3 ). Homeport Brandal near Ålesund, 437.93 gt. Port of registry Ålesund. Converted to motor vessel in 1939, an Atlas Diesel of 640 bhp installed, new tonnage in Jan-1940, 419.04 gt.

 WW II: 

Catching for seals on the Newfoundland Banks when war broke out in Norway on Apr. 9-1940. Decided to go to St. John's (N.F.) and ended up under the control of Nortraship's Fishery office.

Stranded near Cape Pine (N.F.) on Sept. 13-1940 on a voyage North Sydney C. B.- Bay de Verde N.F. (according to the archive document, she was on a voyage from St. John's for Sydney, C.B., having departed St. John's on Sept. 6).
