Notes: Commodore was in Bonheur, station 51, Vice Commodore in Grayburn, station 81. It looks like Alabama, Daronia and Lucellum had also been scheduled for this convoy, but had instead sailed in Convoy HXF 14 a couple of days earlier. El Oso, on a voyage from Lobitos and Halifax for Ellesmere Port with 9238 tons of crude oil and 511 tons of casing head gasolene, struck a mine on Jan. 11-1940 - mine laid by U-30 (Lemp) on Jan. 6. Rohwer gives position as "6 n. miles 280° Bar LV, Liverpool". * Limousin in station 73 was the ex Nore. Ocean Escorts: More details on all the Norwegian ships named in this table can be found in the alphabetical ship lists of this website. |
