Siri,
Some information that may be of interest to you.
During my research into British Merchant Ship Casualties I have come across a reference that shows that on 07/11/1942, OLAF BERGH rescued the surviving crew from SS LLANDILO which had been sunk by U 172 on 02/11/1942. OLAF BERGH later landed them in Trinidad on 26/11/1942.
I have also found another reference to a Norwegian Vessel named SHORSTRANG that, on 28/11/1942, rescued the four survivors that were still alive after spending 21 days on a raft after their ship GLENLEA was torpedoed on 07/11/1942 by U 566. One of the survivors later died onboard SHORSTRANG but the remaining three were later landed at New York on 09/12/1942
Hope these snippets are of use.

Steve:
I think that the Norwegian vessel involved in finding the survivors from Glenlea was THORSTRAND, not SHORSTRANG.

You are most probably right. The survivors report for Glenlea written by the 3rd Officer, Mr J.A. Scott, names the vessel as Shorstrang but quite often these names were the result of a name that was not heard right or was spelt incorrectly. Due to the understandable shock that they were going through at the time I think that we can forgive the survivors if they got it wrong.
