Does anyone have any information to share about the schooner Mana and Capt. Sweeney (possibly my ancestor), out of Akaroa, New Zealand in 1837ish? I found reference to them in an appendix to Rhys Richard's "Murihiku Re-viewed."
The "Mana" was sailing from Akaroa, "taking a shipment of pigs from Moeraki to Mr Fraser's station on Mana Island." I'm not quite sure about the year (1837), but it is the only year mentioned within a few pages of this reference.
Thanks.
