This was one of several identical standard cargo ships built by GM Standifer Construction Corp, Vancouver, Washington at the end of the First World War. She was ship No 4, built as Wawalona.
Others still in service as of 1939 were Abercos (No 8), Adelfoi Chandris (1), Antinous (14), Aquarius (12), Charles R McCormick (15), Coaxet (2), Ioannis Chandris (11), Nishmaha (5), Ohioan (9), Olopana (10), Sidney M Hauptmann (13), Waban (3).
The plans of this particular type of vessel would undoubtedly be in the US national archives, but I would suggest a good starting point as the US Maritime Commission.
