The D/S JERN was not torpedoed by U-32. The crew abandoned the ship after the german sub submerged nearby, ordered by their captain. The crew of U-32 sunk the ship by charges. See BLAIR, HITLER'S U-BOAT WAR Part1 and WYNN, U-BOAT OPERATIONS. Nonetheless the best webside dealing this subject I know

Thank you, I'll look into it, though I don't have the sources you mention.
I'm initially going by what my Norwegian sources have recounted, and by some personal accounts. At the moment I'm comparing everything with a couple of other sources to see if any of my entries are so "off" that I need to check on them further. There's probably many things on my lists that are wrong, and I do want to know about it, so thank you.
None of the sources I'm using are 100 % correct. I even keep coming across mistakes in Rohwer - just yesterday I had to spend quite a bit of time on trying to figure out a convoy entry - concerning the Itallia which he says was in HX 48 - but checking all available information it appears more probable she was in HX 47. So my pages will be continually updated, as I (and others) come across things that don't look right.
Kind regards,
Siri
