Thanks! I wasn't sure what kind of a ship it was, but now I know - I still think it odd that it should be in among the columns of the convoy itself, I thought the escorts would usually be outside the convoy. For that reason I thought perhaps this trawler was in it for the passage, rather than in the role of escort.
I have this ship listed as Oksøy, will have to check into that further. The operation you mention is included somewhere on my pages (I didn't know the code name for it until now), I think under Idefjord or maybe Skiensfjord (the destroyers detached to Sørøy were Sioux, Zambesi, Zealous and Zest).
I'm about to add a page listing all the ships in arctic convoys in which Norwegian vessels took part, hope it'll be of help to someone.
