Thanks for the information about Loch Ewe closing down around 3rd Feb 1945. This is interesting - the war was still going - convoys still moving - I wonder what operational decision prompted this.

The U boat was being defeated, more ships coming on line from America, ULTRA intelligence perhaps.

I hope to have the HMS Queen web site on the web this weekend. Its not a Rolls Royce but does the job.
