German Merchant Navy crew in British Custody

Hi my name is Christiane Marshall and I reside in Perth Western Australia seeking information about German Merchant navy seamen
captured by the British during World War 2
Does anyone know which site I could look.
My grandfather was with the German Merchant Navy and captured by the British at the outbreak of World War2 and then transferred to canada where died as a POW in 1942.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
