She was Special Service Vessel X.39. Special Service Vessels were (according to Colledge) used for a variety of roles, Q-ships being one of them (the text doesn't say if she was a Q-ship). In this book she is named Edgehill, ex Willamette Walley. Built 1928, motor vessel. According to Colledge grt was 4702, but to make things confusing Lloyd's War Losses gives grt as 4724 and the name as Willamette Valley.
