Greetings Phil,

Thank you for your suggestion. Indeed the BRANDON mission carried out sabotage behind enemy lines in Northern Tunisia from December 1942 to February 1943. This was the Special Detachment led by Brooks Richards.

On a similar mission, Hugh Mallory Falconer from SOE, was landed near Hammamet on 28 January 1943 by MTB 307 (mission BLUE) and almost immediately captured. His Memoirs were just posthumously published by his daughter as "The Gestapo's Most Improbable Hostage" (Pen & Sword, 2018). He ended up in Sachsenhausen in the same cell block as Mike Cumberlege of the Corinth Canal fame and survivors of "The Great Escape".

All the best,

Platon
