Had a busy October 1874, but nothing found earlier or later
10/1874 steamer PACIFICADOR, towing the schooner FARO, sailed La Guaira for Los Roques, a dangerous reef and archipelago that had claimed many ships, after the Danish steamer THORA was wrecked - she was carrying the sections of a large statue of Simón Bolívar to be erected in the centre of Caracas, which were successfully recovered.
17/10/1874 steamer PACIFICADOR sailed La Guaira towing the schooner GENERAL FERRER with the parts for the new lighthouse on Gran Roque, which was completed the following year.
The reference to "W Pile" is a bit puzzling - where does that come from?
