There appears to be a lot of well informed people out there and I hope you will be able to help me. I am researching our family history, my wife's grandfather was Chief Engineman Albert George Allen who was killed 21 March 1941 when the Asama was bombed off Plymouth. He was Engineman on the Concertator in the early part of WW2.
My wife's father Laurence H.J. Allen, Able Seaman, was on the Sarna when it was mined in the Suez Canal on 25 Feb 1941, just a month before his father was killed. He was severely injured, the explosion shattered his legs and he was eventually invalided out of the RN in 1942. Her uncle Albert S. Allen was on the Elbury that survived WW2 and I believe he went back to fishing and became a Lt. in RNR. Please forgive me if I've done it 'wrong', this is my first time on this site! I have been trying to find photographs of these vessels unsuccessfully at present. Hope you can help me with any information you may have. Thanks.
