Steamer Hildawell, lost in WW I

I have stumbled upon a small discrepancy. The British steamer Hildawell was lost in a small minefield laid by the German submarine UC32 off Sunderland on December 20, 1916. According to 'Der Handelskrieg mit U-Booten' by Spindler the tonnage of this vessel was only 249, but all other sources lists the tonnage as being 2494. I suspect a typo in Spindler but before I change my records I thought that I should check here first. So, what's the correct tonnage for the Hildawell?
