According to A. Golubev "Poteri korabielnogo sostava Severnogo Flota i grazhdanckih vedomstv na Severnom Morskom Teatre v period Velikoj Otechestvennoj Vojny", Sankt Petersburg 1999, page 40-41,
"Dejatel'nyj" was sunk by U-997 on 16.01.1945.
"Dejatel'nyj" was a part of escort of KB-1 convoy. At 20.30 o'clock she detected German U-boat. Point was 69.04 N / 36.40 E.
"Dejatel'nyj" attacked U-boat, and shortly after that was hit by torpedo. At 21.30 o'clock commander of"Dejatel'nyj", Lieutenant-Commander K.A. Kravchenko ordered abandon ship. Shortly after that "Dejatel'nyj" sunk. Only 7 sailors were saved. Commander and 117 sailors died.
