My book, _Captives of Empire: The Japanese Internment of Allied Civilians in China_ has just been printed. It is an in depth look at the Japanese internment camps in China and Hong Kong. Included is much information about crews of merchant ships who found themselves interned in China or Hong Kong, including the SS President Harrison and the SS YS Admiral Williams. There are also 13,544 individual listings of civilians who were held captive, including those who were merchant mariners.
