Hi Siri, I know it was going to be a long shot in finding this sailor I thought if I could get the names of any ships in the area at that time hopefully there would be only 1 Rolph serving on them. He is my wife's Grandfather who was stationed in the Forth at that time. When he came ashore he met up with my wife's Grandmother in Edinburgh and promised to return after the war, we don't know what happened to him thereafter and 9 months later my wife's mother was born. If anyone knows what these ships were and the crew lists I would appreciate any info, many thanks, fraserrigby.
