Sailor Vaino O. Murto, convoys and Normandy Invasion

I´ve been searching any information about my father, Vaino (Väinö) Olavi Murto, born 1916 in Kotka, Finland.
He was sailing apparently 2 or 3 convoys between US and England appx. 1941-1944.
He also tooka part of famous Normandy Invasion at D-Day, where he was wounded badly.
ANY info would be a great help!
