Dear Readers.-
I have only since today read in this list, but already found two items I could reply to. I never thought there is something like this list.
I had a friend, a very good friend, who came on board as an A/B and after he had the rquested time for a license I talked him into going to the Cuxhaven Navigation School. After that he came back, as I signed him on as second mate. Years later after we had sold the mv MAX SIEGHOLD he became captain on board a norwegian vessel. of which I do not know the name, the Owners, nor the flage she sailed under.
Years later after I havnt heard from him anymore, I phoned his relatives in Bavaria and they told me that he was shot to death in Lome (I think)- I was told that the voyage before he had been asked by a theologist if he could give him a passage out of Togo, as he had to hide.
And certainly the captain did. It was just his Character to help others. So typical that I believe it could have been like I was told. The voyage after they returned to the same port, and when Capt.von Mueller went ashore, he was shot to death in the open.
My question is: Who knows anything about this and could tell me more?
He was married to an english Lady, and they had one little boy. He wrote to me: "I have reached all my goals, I am Captain, I am happily married and I have a boy".
You may reply in english or german, but also in any other language which I can get translated.-
Thank you very much in advance
