I have been in contact with an ex crew member of the above and as he is a fellow Merseysider I said I would try and help him,
I would be very much obliged if anyone could assist him and chat over the old days
(November the 11th is rememberance day!)
I am trying to locate shipmates from 1943 to 1945 minesweeping out of Plymouth, Falmouth etc.I was one of three Englishmen crew members of the LL minesweeper RNMS BREVIK there were four others in the flotilla.GRIMSTAD, MANDAL<VARDO & HARSTAD>the Harstad was torpedoed in the English Channel off Plymouth, the MANDAL hit some rocks off the south coast of Norway, she was on her way home some time after VE day.The BREVIK< GRIMSTAD &VARDO all made it back to OSLO.I would like to get it in touch with any still existing crew members.; I was the Wirerman MS aboard the BREVIK for three years.
