Some months ago I interviewed an old danish sailor, Frede Pedersen, who was on board "Heimgar" in 1941. He may remember your great grandfather. Interested in contact-information?
(he may get things a bit mixed up, since he's telling me, that the ship was torpedoed 20 miles from Hull on the 2nd og october 1942. As far as I can see, the ship was never torpedoed. But anyway - he sailed with the ship and may remember some from the crew)
