Hi Lori

I'm not a shipmate but a researcher who has been tracing his uncle, missing 1942 aboard the NEMANJA. The TORVANGA was hit by U84 as was the NEMANJA and I have a photo of the
"...survivors approaching the submaine..." found in Bodo Herzog's book "UBOOTE IM EINSATZ".

Would your father be amongst these? They are the 10 survivors sitting in the stern of the lifeboat and the photo is taken from u84.

I would be interested in your father's recollections , particularly of the Uboat commander as he appears to have been anti-nazi and did help survivors when possible.

Photos of the Torvanger are on warsailors - I think - I will check
