Hi
I just found this site and was thrilled to find out so much information. My father William (Bill) Crowley was a crew member and one of the fortunate survivors of the SS Ruperra which was sadly torpedoed on 19th October 1940.
He did not like talking about what had happened to him, but often talked about and became very emotional about his former shipmates.
Sadly, Dad passed away in 1991 aged 81, but we feel very privileged to have shared his life for so long.
