Dear all

I have recently inherited a cup from my father which commemerates the rescue of sailors from the Haugland in 1933. I'm trying to get any additional information on this event as my grandfather was the captain of the trawler Goth (from Hull) which rescued these sailors.

The inscription on the cup reads
FRA DEN NORSKE STAT
TIL
KAPTEIN H BROWN
S/T "GOTH" AV HULL

FOR BISTAND YDET BESETNINGEN
PA D/S "HAUGLAND AV HAUGESUND
12TE - 14DE OKTOBER 1933

Any information, news clippings etc on either the rescue itself or the award of the cup would be gratefully received.
