Hello Everyone,
My Father travelled aboard this ship during Nov/Dec 1943. She was owned by Willis Steam Ship Co. Ltd and managed by J&C Harrison Ltd.
I have obtained a photo of her from the National Maritime Museum photo archive and according to their website she was completed in 1942 and was lost on 5th April 1945.
Willis SS Co. owned an earlier vessel of the same name (according to 'The World's Merchant Fleets 1939') which was lost in 1940.
Does anyone have any further information on this replacement vessel please? I would like to find out the following:-
1. Where was she built?
2. Who were her builders?
3. Gross tons.
4. Deadweight.
5. Length/Breadth/Draught/Service Speed.
6. Any prior names/companies before being acquired by Willis SS Co.
7. Any details about her career.
8. Fate - what happened to her on 5th April 1945?
Thanks all!!
Kind Regards
Tim
