Gentlemen:

Commenting on all of the above, may I offer the following:

According to "U. S. Submarine Attacks During World War II" by John D. Alden, Naval Institute Press, 1989, subject vessel was torpedoed on December 2, 1944 by USS BARB. "Disabled and abandoned." Sources: Roger W. Allen, researcher, and Imperial Japanese Navy. Subsequently sunk on December 4 by USS SPADEFISH, as described.

As war in Pacific did not break out until December 8, account of capture on 7th is incorrect.

Statement that vesel was "condemned" on July 30, 1942 is not understood. Alden shows only one U. S. submarine attack on May 12, 1942 and that in Latitude 05-06S, far from Hong Kong.
