By the way, it would be interesting to know what the Chinese sailors on Norwegian ships earned, as compared to their Norwegian counterparts (Norwegian sailors earned a lot less than American ones for instance, but about the same as the British). I'll see what I can find, I'm sure it's mentioned in my books somewhere.
