Hallo Jan-Olof
I used all the years Jürgen Rohwers book(s). And it was my standard literature when it came to the submarines topic.
Now i have the new book and use them both.
What i now write is my personal view of this books.
The foodnotes are sometimes better in Jürgen Rohwers book. He trys to explain how ans why. I.e. In this topic we talked about the Tekla. Jürgen Rohwer explains all in a foodnote. Busch & Röll say only Tekla was sunk by U-55 and not U-22, without saying how they got this idea. I don't like it because they used Jürgen Rohwers book and the KTB's as a referenz.
Busch & Röll describe the russian sources, where they got their information including the casualties. This is very good. The laying of mines by the geran submarines is much better described than by Jürgen Rohwer.
I just checked the bigger mistakes in the errata listing and this ones are corrected. I have not checked the small ones.
I will use both books in the future.
Both books are helpful standards for the research work.
Best regards
Axel
