it is a different category of victims - losses by submarines.
I'll surely try to count those 53 ships of 202,820 grt up.
It may be a mistake, like in the case of the American Samuel Heintzelman, counted as a raider victim, and sunk by German sub in July 1943 in fact.
But, maybe there is one more Allied / neutral merchant ship sunk by surface warships, quite a big one, in September 1941... Regia Marina activities? I have really no idea.
