AGHIOS NIKOLAOS was sunk by gunfire from the Italian submarine. Captain Georgios Skinitis and his crew of 25 (19 Greek and 7 foreigners) took to the two lifeboats which soon lost contact of each other.
The lifeboat commanded by the Captain carried 12 persons and was rescued by the Portuguese trawler ANNA. They were disembarked at Fieueira Da Foz.
The second lifeboat had the other 14 persons was picked up by a (not named) Spanish fishing vessel and taken to Leixoes. The two groups were reunited in Lisbon and later shipped to Greece.
The dates that the castaways were picked up are not mentioned in my source (Greek book En kairo polemo=In time of war)
