Sugar Line (Tate & Lyle) sold a ship, the Crystal Diamond in 1973 and on behalf of the new owners it was taken over, I believe by a Captain Slayer from Latvia and renamed the Vanda of Liberia

I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of him as he must have led a most interesting life. I was told that he had come to the UK during WW2 with a Latvian Masters Certificate, then took the British Masters Certificate and obtained a Panamanian certificate for $50.

He settled in the UK
