Hello Darius,
I have Byron's book and it says (p. 106):
08.11.42
11.15 a ship was sighted, having rounded the right hand edge of Polimo. Commenced attack. Throughout observation was very difficult as waves were continuously washing over the periscope.
11.32 fired one torpedo. Missed due to firing with the DA on the wrong bow.
