I live in the area where the shipbreakers yard used to exist, and when I was much younger remember many of the vessels that arrived there for scrapping. In fact the first vessel that saw arriving (in 1957) ran aground on a mud bank outside the yard and remained there for several days before refloating.
I have a complete listing of the vessels (together with their details) that were scrapped at the yard and in the absence of any accurate printed literature elsewhere, I have decided to publish my data on a website. I have made this known to fellow researchers in the UK, each of whom has suggested that I should extend this to cover all of the TW Ward scrapyards.
I have still to learn how to set up a website, so it may be some time before it appears.
