Clark Mills was mined (mine struck in the fuel tank between the #2 and #3 holds) on March 9, 1944 while on an independent voyage, in ballast, from Tunis to Bizerte. Mined in position 37 18N 10 13E, beached off Bizerte, CTL. Sold to Italian buyers in February 1948 for breaking up. Some sources claim that she was part of convoy MKS 42 when the incident happened, this is incorrect. No mention of any air attack.
