Hi all,
My father is the old seaman who was on the ship when she was torpedoed & sunk.
To clear up a slight confusion in Ron's posting 18/01/03,Dad says that they had come from Belfast(loaded with cattle cake & news print), joined a convoy at Loch Ewe(west coast of Scotland).
They then steamed round the top of Scotland & headed south.
They were steaming south when they were hit.
The opposite way to that shown in the records.
He can only think that because they were sunk around the same time as the Norwegan vessel Sneland the mistake was made assumming they were in the same convoy.
Is there any way of finding out which convoy it was that sailed from Loch Ewe 6th/7th May 1945?
Cheers Phil
