One of a class of eight Torpedo Recovery Vessels built for the Royal Navy, ordered between 1940 and 1943.
103 feet (overall) x 20.9 feet displacement 235 tons
powered by a 300bhp Widdop diesel engine; one shaft - 9.5 knots.
Armed 1 x 20mm
They were employed recovering practise torpedoes on firing ranges - this was usually in Scottish waters; for this they were fitted with derrick on a raised foredeck.
TRV.1 to 5 & TRV.8 built by Watson at Gainsborough.
TRV.5 ordered in March 1942; launched 23 February 1943.
sold out of service in 1946
