Hi Ron

I've just come across this website while researching my uncle's death in WW2. He was killed on Santorini in the Greek islands in September 1944 when the vessel he was on was fired upon by the German armed merchant ship Pelican (this was the spelling given in the report regarding SOE's activities in the Aegean). The report states that the Pelican was around 2000 tons which roughly ties in with this ship's size which I saw on another site.

I know it is long shot but am I right in assuming that this would be the same ship as there would not have been two ships of the same name around at the same time.

Hope to hear from you.

Regards
David
