Hi Oliver,
Try the book "Deutsche Fischdampfer" written by Wolfgang Walter. Deutsche Schiffahrtsmuseum - Band 50 / 1999. At page 32 there is a prewar photo of her. Technical information on page 248.
She was built in 1934 - 428 Grt.
10.4.1940 she entered Stettevik for shelter due to the German invasion together with the merchantvessel MS Ruhrort. She was not taking part in the invasion, but was just in the area for civilian fishing. As already stated by Platon, she was captured 12.4.40. The crew was interned at the village Skodje. The next day she was taken to Molde to be converted into a Norwegian "Vorpostboot", but this was never finished. The crew from the Trygg, had plans to sail her to the UK. Left behind in Molde when the town was evacueted, and recaptured by the German Navy 23.5.40. Rebuilt as Vorpostboot V-5701, and served the entire war as such.
Damaged 14.10.1944 by aircraft from carriers HMS Fencer and HMS Trumpeter off Trondheim. Severely damed 09.02.1945 off Fĝrde when supporting the destroyer Z-33 during an attack by aircraft from dallachy Strike Wing. Was undergoing repair in Ċlesund in May 1945. Returned to her German civilian owner later in 1945.
Probably there is a crew list from her at the National Archive in London?
Very best regards,
Erling
