Quote:Harry LangenesSIR!
I wonder what happened to the German
tug, Arngast. It was supposed to be
the biggest tug in the world. It was used to
assist big ships as tirpiz. When the war ended it was in Norway. In may 1945 it was
Docked in Kristiansand, Norway. It was a
Diesel Elecktrik Tug. The Crew had
dissapered, and I as an electrician, was asked by the Norwegian Navy to help to get some of the elektrikal machinery working.
Some years leter i found out thet the
British Navy had taken it as a war price.
It had been renamed "TURMOIL" and became
famous when it tryed to asisst Capt, Karlsen
on a Liberyship in the English Canal.
Hope you can help me since you are,
interested in German Tugs.
All the best Harry Langenes
