In 1947 my father was on board Hilmar Reksten's M/S Titanian when she struck a mine. Does anyone have more details on this? The only information I have is what he mentions in an old letter I have found in which he says the ship broke almost in two, but after 3 days they managed to get ashore, after having been picked up by a Dutch trawler. This happened on Palm Sunday, March 30-1947. (She was later towed into port, found to be beyond economical repair, and sold to breakers in Stavanger).
What I would really like to know is the name of the Dutch trawler, circumstances around the rescue, where were the survivors landed etc.
