I would like to inform you that last week during the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the ORIA we dived to the wreck site escorted by divers-members of the families of the lost Italian soldiers and placed a plate to the bottom in memory of the 4.115 souls.

At the same time a memorial for the victoms was built opposite to the island of Patroklos (or else Gaidouronisi) in Greece were the tragedy happened.
The loss of the ORIA is the 4th worse maritime disaster during WWII.
