British Submarine Adria spring 1944

In the book "Secret Commands of the 2nd World War" by Werner Brockdorff you will find a story about the sinking of an English submarine by storm- and pioneer landing boats of the 1st Coast Hunters Company in spring 1944 at the coast of Yugoslavia

The submarine had reached the shore for the supply of partisans and took off after being surprised by the Coastal Hunters Company. The "Brandenburger" were close nearby and recognized the submarine properly, so it may not have been a dolphin or similar else.
In an attempt to reach the open sea to dive, the storm- and pioneer crafts took it under fire and ultimately sunk it. Several crew members of the submarine could be rescued by the Brandenburgers.

Any idea to identify this submarine at the Yugoslavian coast of the Adria in spring 1944, unaware if really sunk or escaped?

With best regards
Thomas
