Also listed in the Advance Sailing Telegram for the Bermuda portion (received from Tony Cooper, England):
Clausina, Donacilla and Donax - "To Halifax to await orders" (Donacilla is said to have sailed in HX 77, but this convoy is not available to me).
Tahchee and Diloma - "To be held at Bermuda" (see also HX 51 and SC 6 for Tahchee)
Ridley (sugar for London) and Stad Schiedam (sulphur for Hull) were also scheduled for this portion, but did not sail. Ridley shows up again in HX 75.

Notes:
Commodore R. Eliot was in Consuelo, Vice Commodore was the captain of Fowberry Tower.

The convoy originally had a total of 44 ships - 17 from Halifax, 15 joining from Sydney, C.B. and 12 from Bermuda. The Norwegian Carmelfjell (Sydney section) did not sail - not included in above table.

* Milcrest, bound for Methil with a cargo of steel, parted company with convoy at 00:50 on Sept. 16 in 43 55N 53 30W due to engine trouble, and returned to Halifax (listed in Convoy HX 76).
Taxiarchis left on the night of Sept. 26/27 in N.W. approaches - reason not known.
Carmelfjell, Einar Jarl and Nolisement sailed in the next convoy, HX 74 - ref. link below.

* West Quechee became the British Empire Panther in 1940.

** Towa is listed as Swedish in the Commodore's notes.

The commodore is not at all impressed with the ships' ability to keep station and speed, saying in his notes "on the whole the worst convoy I've had". Jutland and Fowberry Tower were the only ships that kept consistently good station. He adds: "Scottish Star, Adellen, Laurelwood who all took part in the prolonged night signalling on the 26th should be seriously warned. Though I think it quite possible that the masters themselves may have known nothing about it. There was no time on the morning of the 27 to investigate the matter by signal".

Dalveen was sunk by aircraft on Sept. 28.

Ocean Escorts: HMS Ascania (met off Halifax) until parting company at 20:00 GMT on Sept. 23, 53 57N 23 10W.
Local Escorts: HMS Walker, HMS Fowey, HMS Mallow, HMS Peony and 2 trawlers.
HMS Anthony, HMS Antelope joined at 17:45 on Sept. 23 in 53 57N 23 30W.
Air Escort: From 07:30 till 20:30 on Sept. 25, 54 01N 16 42W, and again from 09:00 and 17:00 on Sept. 26, on and off all day on the 27th(? number difficult to desipher).

More details on all the Norwegian ships named in this table can be found in the alphabetical ship lists of this website.
