Built by the Norfolk Navy Yard as the Fleet Tug #18 POCAHONTAS, launched 1.4.1916 and completed 14.3.1917. On 1.9.1917 (or 1.9.1918) renamed CHEMUNG, on 17.7.1920 reclassified Fleet Tug AT-18. Decommissioned 25.10.1926. On 31.1.1936 downgraded to Harbour Tug YT-124 CHEMUNG, stricken 22.12.1936. Sold 25.1.1937 to Gallagher Brothers Sand & Gravel Corp. of NYC, on 12.2.1937 taken over as PETER C. GALLAGHER, port of registry New York. On Aug. 1941 taken over by the WSA and chartered to the UK MoWT for Admiralty service, managed for them by the Townsend Brothers (Ferries) Ltd. of London, port of registry London, taken to the Mediterranean. Returned pro-forma to the USA in 1948. By 1949 sold to M. Rempoulis & M. Scorda at Cairo, Egyptian flag. Still listed in service on Equasis in 2008.
