Launched as the JACOB CHRISTENSEN, 3,594-tons, completed as Yard No.245 as a cargo ship in November 1920 by J. Blumer & Co., Ltd., Sunderland for A/S August (J. Christensen, manager), Bergen, Norway; dimensions of 356.3 x 48.7
In 1923 sold to A/S D/S Mathilda with the same managers
Scuttled by crew at Rochefort, 18 June 1940, when machinery repairs could not be completed in time for her to escape the German advance, raised by German salvors
In 1941 renamed BALDUR by Deutsches Reich (Seereederei "Frigga" A.G., Hamburg, mgrs.) GE
On 23 May 1944, she was torpedoed and sunk by HMS SCEPTRE, off Salta Cabalo, near Bilbao
