bill, many thanks for info.presume date diff.as result of staying
afloat for a while after collision.this makes loss of anyone most
tragic,although some could have been killed as result of collision.i get a slight sense of "cover-up"over this(although i
realise they were difficult times)the word "mishap" was used & i,m not too sure this means the actual collision. poss.a further
failure in the engine room after,for e.g. subsequent water ingress.will try to get asight of the books you mention.i,m in
manchester area,so could try m/cr.central library. i believe
westbound voyage(of b.a.)was m/cr.-n.y. any info on eastbound
voyage?? is ther any sort of picture library that might have a
photo.do you think??
