I’m making enquiries on behalf of a Russian friend who is researching the history of the Russian East Asiatic Shipping Company. In particular, he seeks information on the Danish ship “Sjælland”, built in Kiel in 1872 (yard no. 45), which was apparently chartered to the Russian company in 1909–10, at which time she was called “Libava”. Unfortunately, I don't have access to registers of that period, and would be immensely grateful to any forum member who could provide details of
