HMS HEARTY ex-INDRA was built as a large tug in 1885 and purchased by the British Admiralty before completion. She spent most of her naval service on fishery protection, towing and, latterly survey duties. After WW1 she was sold as a commercial salvage tug and based in the Baltic as DALHOUSIE. In 1929/30 she was sold by The Ocean Salvage & Towage Co Ltd, London for demolition to the Karlshamn Shipyard, which had started a shipbreaking operation.

She remained listed in Lloyd's Register until the 1934/35 edition, which is annotated "broken up" (seen elsewhere listed as broken up Q1/1935).

However, surprisingly, Wrecksite claims that some time in 1940 she was "stripped and scuttled in Weymouth Bay".
